Entrance to National Forest

The powerhouse site would be between the road and Morgan Creek - off to the left.  The exact placement is to be determined, but will be on National Forest land.

Powerhouse site in the winter

No avalanches this year, however they are common in the area. This suggests moving he powerhouse close to the edge of the National Forest land.

Morgan Creek

Looking downstream toward the packing station.  This is a wonderful hiking area.

Route of the tailrace

A short very tailrace will connect the powerhouse to the Creek.

Looking up the penstock route from the powerhouse

Note the power line on-site.  There are12 kV, 60 kV on the poles as well as and phone lines available.  Depending on the powerhouse exact location a maximum of oneor two poles may be necessary.

Looking up at the mine

Penstock following the snowshed route shown as the line down on the left of theis picture.   The road to the right is a good tar road that is kept open all year.  This will not be disturbed.

Penstock route looking down from the mine

Route is under the linear snowshed at the break in slope.

In these pictures, the road next to the snowshed ( the line on the right of the picture) is buried in snow.  Rock and avalanches are common here as witnessed by the damage to the snowshed.

Diversion location

Diversion will be just below the mine approximately at the end of the snowshed on the left.

Wider perspective

Looking up the hill, the snow shed and small road route shows that there would be little ground disturbance.

Currently, (summer 2008) there are claim stake markers every 600 feet down the larger tar road on the right marking out new mill site (not mining) claims.  Since the slope here is prohibitive, the intent of the mine owner is unclear.

Lower penstock route

Looking uphill at the snowshed and the small road next to it.  Our new penstock will follow this road.

Future powerhouse site

The snow shed comes down the hill from the right.  Here, the penstock will turn at right angles and drop to a new powerhouse located on the right side of the road in the distance.

This design has the least impact on the fishing resources possible for this resource.

Mine's hydropower site

The mine has a hydropower facility on site.  This is located above our project and uses water coming out of the mine.  The water from this hydro project combines with water coming down from Morgan Creek from the right to make the flow for our project.
